Nobody can blame you if, when someone says "Tesla," the first thing they see is Elon Musk

After all, given his constant presence in the news, Musk serves as the company's face.

You may even be excused for assuming that he founded Tesla.

After all, he has been identified as a co-founder of the firm in several public statements.

You'd be mistaken, though. Elon Musk wanted to be acknowledged as a co-founder so much

Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning formed Tesla, Inc. (formerly known as Tesla Motors) in 2003.

Meaww claimed that Eberhard had been considering purchasing a high-mileage sports automobile but was torn

between doing so because of both global warming and the Middle Eastern tensions over oil.
